Cardiff Barrage is home to a great skatepark named “The Plaza”. Designed by skaters around a mostly “street” style of park… Its looked after by the port Authority and The Cardiff Skateboard club, who host yearly events and competitions there.

Recently, its looked a little knackered due to vandalism, so Cardiff council appointed me the duty of giving it a little facelift! As a (semi-retired) skateboarder, this was a cool project to be involved in! I spoke with the CSC guys and came up with some ideas for the park. As it is based next to the infamous “Tiger Bay”, one suggestion was to create a Tiger image in black and white to represent the old Cardiff and history, and a Dragon image to represent, well, the obvious.
